How to Properly Perform Lunges for Maximum Results
Lunges are a great exercise for strengthening and toning the legs, as well as improving balance and flexibility.
Here are the steps to perform lunges:Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, keeping your back straight and your shoulders relaxed.
Take a big step forward with your right foot and lower your body until your right knee forms a 90-degree angle. Your left knee should be touching the ground or hovering just above it.
Keep your upper body straight and your core engaged, with your weight evenly distributed between your front and back leg.
Pause for a moment, then push off with your right foot and return to the starting position.
Repeat with your left leg, taking a step forward and lowering your body until your left knee forms a 90-degree angle.
Tips:
Make sure your front knee doesn't extend beyond your toes to prevent injury.
Keep your back straight and shoulders relaxed to avoid hunching forward.
Engage your core muscles to maintain balance and stability throughout the exercise.
Start with a few repetitions and gradually increase the number as you become more comfortable with the movement.
